物語 · Our story
Two countries,
one kitchen.
Hokkaido Sora is not a Japanese restaurant that happens to be in Nepal. It is the highest point of a bridge our founders have been building between the two countries for twenty years.
Long before authentic ramen reached Kathmandu, Hokkaido Nepal Business Group was serving Nepali food to Japan. The return journey — bringing Japanese technique, ingredients and discipline home — is what you taste on this rooftop today.
年表 · The journey
- 2001
A beginning in Japan
Arjun Adhikari enters Japan’s restaurant industry, learning the craft from the inside over seventeen years.
- 2005
Nepali food, into Japan
The “Bistarai Bistarai” — “slowly, slowly” — restaurants open across Hokkaido Prefecture, bringing Nepali cooking to Japanese tables.
- 2019
Japanese craft, home to Nepal
Hokkaido Ramen House opens at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha — the first restaurant in Nepal with its own ramen production facility.
- Today
The rooftop flagship
Hokkaido Sora — the eighth outlet of the group — rises above Maharajgunj as the most refined expression of the journey.
We learned to cook for Japan. Then we came home to cook Japan for Nepal — and to make space for people like us to build something of their own.
Arjun Adhikari · Founder, Hokkaido Nepal Business Group
哲学 · What we hold to

Japanese quality
Recipes and standards guided by Japanese expertise and quality control.
People first

The vision is large: to bridge Nepal and Japan through food culture, and to grow toward a hundred outlets across Nepal. Hokkaido Sora is where that ambition meets the sky.
